Multiplayer : We learned a lot about MW3Killstreaks via COD XP Today, so here's a little bit of what we learned today.

Killstreaks are different. WayDifferent. It is now on a point system. Much like Homefront, you get points forkills, doing team objectives, like capturing a Flag of HQ, and even assists,when using Hardline. Also, you can still choose what killstreaks you want touse, but they are in different groups, called Strike Packages. There are three,each depending on what type of player you are, that being, body count, meaningyou want a lot of kills, team player, or a self supporting player.

· Assault Tier

4 Kills – Care Package

5 Kills – IMS – 3 or 4placeable landmines that cannot be stunned or flashed

5 Kills – Predator Missile

5 Kills – Sentry Gun

6 Kills – Precision Airstrike

7 Kills – Attack Helicopter

7 Kills – Little Bird Flock –Mini Helicopters which patrol the map

9 Kills – Little Bird Guard –Big Helicopter that follows you from above and protects you

App Of The Week : Week 1

This is the first entry into the series of " App Of The Week " basically what it is, is a weekly blog we will post every Wednesday, and we will show you a App, most likely a game, but i could be any kind of iOS app. We will review the app, give you the price and tell you why we love it so much. Just because it's the app of the week doesn't mean it came out this week, it's just an app that you probably haven't heard yet of haven't played yet.

Zombie Gun Ship. This $0.99 game, made by Limbic Software, the company behind TowerMadness, is very addicting, operative word, VERY. It requires you to take control of an AC-130, and take out zombies on the ground, while friendly humans try to make their way to a shelter. You must save as many humans as possible by clearing out zombies and making way for them to get to the shelter. You must also stop the zombies from entering the shelter, or the round ends.
The more people enter the shelter, the more coins you get. With coins, you can buy bigger guns ( From a 25MM to a 40MM ) You can also upgrade Reload Time, Damage Range, ECT.
Although simple, the game pulls you in and makes you want to get the biggest and best guns and upgrades.
Overall, i give this game a 4/5 stars, and it is well worth the .99 Cent Price tag.

A New Type of blog for us here at Joe The Gamer, " This Week's Releases " We will feature the top games and demos releasing this upcoming week for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and PC Consoles.

First off, the Driver : San Francisco Multiplayer Demo. I am excited for this demo, which you know if you read the review of the Single Player Demo . The Single player Demo inpressed both me and a friend of mine, so we plan on downloading the Demo Tuesday to see how the Online pans out, and if it's as good as single player, it may be a buy or even pre order for me, even though i think the price of it will drop fairly quickly, like most driving games do, so it would make more sense to wait to buy it used. The Demo releases on Xbox Live and PSN on August 16th.

First off, i would like to thank you. Everyone who has visited this blog has contributed to the success that i thought was never possible. We have thousands of views, in over 10 countries, on over 10 Operating Systems, and 9 Different Web Browsers. Every month we are recieving more views than the previous and this month we will not only beat, but we will double our biggest month yet. Because of this great growth we have encountered, i have decided to upgrade the blog a little. I plan to clean up the articles ( Make Them Preetier ), add more details into the site, and have more multimedia items, as in Pictures and Videos. Demo Reviews : Madden 12, Driver : San Francisco

SPECIAL EDITION BLOG

I always love a good game demo so when i saw the demos that came avaible Tuesday, Madden 12, and Driver : San Francisco, i was preety excited. Well i have played both demos now, and needless to say, i am STILL Very Happy !
First off, Madden 12. Usually, the same old, same old game, with updated rosters. This year though, is different. Right off the bat, i noticed the menus in Madden were different. Straight to the point, and eaiser to undrstand. The coin toss selection menu is different and Gameflow has made its return. The graphics are good, like always, but are a little different from last year. The players have a different look to them. Next, the play calling system has a different look to it. In the bottom left hand corner of the screen, you can either go with gameflow, or open he playbook, which also has a different look to it and choose a play.
The Presentation of the game is heads and sholders above, not only Madden 11, but any sports game to date. From giving you an overhead view of the stadium, to showing the packed house of fans cheering while the players make there over the top entrances, the opening scenes of the game are much better. And finally, the overall gameplay feels different. It's smoother, and more realistic. For EX. last year, you could blitz 10 times and barley get any pressure on the QB, while in this demo, both the Computer and I Blitzed once and got 1 sack. Overall, i would say this year's installment is much more in depth, and realistic than last year's. Earning it 4/5 stars.

Driver San Francisco : A New twist on an old classic, Driver puts you in the drivers seat ( see what i did there ) of Josh Tanner, a drive who learns he can switch, to take over other people and their cars. The Demo lets you play 3 Missions, Prove It, where you have to convince your partner that you can switch into someone else, by doing tricks, hoking up to a tow truck and finally hitting a police car and then out running them. The Next, Team Colors, requires you to place 1st and 2nd in a 4 car race, with two different cars. By switching in between cars, you must out race the other 2 drivers to complete the mission. Finally, the last mission, the Escapist, demands you escape the police with a VIP passenger on board. This is the hardest of the three, because you are on a strict time limit to out run and then deliever the passenger.
The Gameplay and controls of Driver feel extremly better and more realistic than other Driving Games, and i can't wait for this game to be released. The Multiplayer Demo launches next Tuesday, so look for a review

Driver San Francisco Multiplayer Demo Review

Driver : San Francisco. I recently reviewed the single player demo and was very impressed. After playing the multiplayer Demo i can say that, i am still very impressed.
The Online Demo consists of two game modes. One, " Tag " requires drivers to control the " Tag ". To take control of the tag, you must run into the car that is currently holding it. A CPU starts off with it and someone must hit the computer to take control of the tag. For every second or two that you hold the tag, you gain a point. First to 100 wins. Very simple game mode, yet very fun. You can also use Shift mode, so you can change to a car that is right in front of the tagged car, then slam on the brakes to run into the car and take a hold of the Tagged position.

Trailblazer, The next gamemode, is also very simple. There is a Computer car that drives around the map, randomly, and leaves a yellow train behind it. Stay in the yellow trial to gain points. For every second or two that you are in the trail you gain a point. Once again, first to 100 points wins.
I experienced no lag during my online play, which s very good, considering lag can be very annoying in any type of game, especially a driving game. Also something that i though was very cool was qualifying. Before each game, there is a 30 second mini game that determines what place you start in the real game.
One type of qualifying is a speed game, where, whoever drives the fastest, gets first place, and so on.
It is said that Driver will ship with nine Multiplayer Gamemodes, and i am interested in seeing what the others will contain.
Overall, i was very impressed with both the MP and SP Demos of this game, and defiantly hail it as a must buy sometime down the road, most likely when i can get it used for $20 or $30.

What I Want From The Xbox 360/PS3 ( Xbox 720, PS4 )

The current console generation is great, don't get me wrong, and there is still a good 2 years before we see the next GEN of the Xbox and Playstation Consoles, but it's never to early to look ahead and dream. So without further ado ( i think thats how you spell it ) here is what i want from the Next Microsoft, and Sony Consoles respectably :

First, Xbox : The current Xbox is great, but there is something i would love to see in the Xbox 3, 720, Or what ever it'll be called.

First, xbox needs some better sports. Let's face it, MLB 2k sucks. Graphics sucks, gameplay sucks, its just an overall mess. The main reason why i play PS3, is for MLB The Show. Their Basketball games are all lack-luster to me. I am personally a fan of the NBA Inside Series on PS3, another San Diego Studios Game. If the Next Xbox can get some exclusive games that can be on par or even better than PS3, it will give it a serious edge on the sports side, that is currently does not have.
Second, Xbox needs more support for 3rd party Headsets. Currently, Headsets have to be specifically designed for the 360. PS3, on the other hand, allows you to use any blue tooth head set. Unless you buy a Turtle Beach or Astro Gaming Head Set, the Mic that ships with the 360 Breaks Easily and has very poor sound quality. Hopefully the Next Gen Xbox won't be so strict.

Game Sharing(note the picture above) is the biggest Risk-Reward on the Playstation Network. It's simple, sign in as some one else and go to their download history and what ever you download, stays on your ps3 even when signed in under your own account. Xbox has something this is a little similar to this, but some DLC are not allowed to be game shared on Xbox, and you can only share it with 1 person, compared to 5 on PS3. If you have to pay to play online, it seems fair that game sharing could be allowed.

Now for the PS3, There are loads of problems for the console so here are a few suggestions.

UI, or user interface, needs to be cleaned up in the next playstation. Xbox's dashboard is clean, sleek and had AD's that i actually care about that makes me want to go through each channel and see what's new. On PS3 however, it is just too many settings, Photo,Video and Music Options, that are useless to many people. A colorful, interactive UI would defiantly be a plus for the next Playstation.

The Next problem is Playstation Network/Connections. Now, i will admit, i do not have the best Internet in the world ( Verizon DSL) but i should not have to turn my Internet off and on, along with my PS3 just to be able to connect to the Network. Sony needs to have it's own servers, like the 360. Even if we need to pay to play online, the added connection speed would more than make up for it. Hosting It's own servers wouldn't put Sony in debt, for EX. : virtual private servers by myhosting.com
Installing Games, like on the 360, would be a great idea for Playstation. This allows for faster loading times, and stops freezing, and skipping in the game. PS3 only allows for certain games to be installed, and it is mandatory, like for MLB The Show 11. Installing every game is a must for the Playstation 4.

New Black Ops DLC ; Rezurrection, 1200 MS Points to some, Free to Others.

The latest to be announced, and probably last DLC for Black Ops, is named Rezurrection and will feature 5 Zombie Maps, 1 New, Titled Moon, and the four, upgraded zombie maps from Call Of Duty World At War, which came in the Black Ops Hardened and Prestige Editions.

The DLC will cost 1200 MS Points for Regular Black Ops Owners, but will be free to anyone who purchased the Hardened or Prestige Editions. They will receive the " Moon " Map and any updates that may come with the old maps.

The DLC Will launch on Xbox live on August 23rd, with no PS3 Release Date yet Available. I, proud owner of the prestige edition, am looking forward to a free DLC from Call Of Duty, the first, of hopefully more to come !

Borderlands 2 Announced / Officially Confirmed

Amazon Games, on Twitter, has officially announced that Borderlands 2 is in development and is ready to pre order. The game will launch on PS3, Xbox 360 And PC on December 31st 2012. Of course the release date will probally be pushed back, like most games. But the game is officially in development and should arrive within a few years.

Today we have an interview with Dan Amrich, Also known as OneOfSwords (twitter) .Dan in the Social Media Manager at Activision, the Publisher of the Call Of Duty Franchise. We contacted Dan Via Email with some questions and here's what he had to say. Also, we would like to thank Dan for taking the time to answer our questions. Question 1 : What exactly do you do at activision ?

I'm the Social Media Manager, which is really a fancy way of saying
blogger/podcaster/Twitter guy. My job is to have conversations with
gamers, take that info back to the mothership, and help Activision get
to know its gamers better. And it flows the other way -- when
something interesting is happening here, I tell everybody else what it
is. Sometimes that also means clarifying facts or squashing rumors.
They let me set up my own outpost at oneofswords.com and I'm allowed
to run the site as I see fit and I generate all the content on it.

> Q 2 :What is Call Of Duty Elite ?

It's a service for Call of Duty players that makes it easy to look at
how you play, but also find people who you like to play with. It
offers social groups, stat tracking, contests, and ways to improve.
Most of it is free to everybody, parts of it will be optional for a
fee. But I think people will be surprised when they see just how much
of it is free. There's a FAQ with a list of confirmed free stuff at

Well, the core functionality of Elite is free; any Call of Duty player
will be able to log in and use it for no charge. Additional offerings
above and beyond the core stuff (such as an original web series

that comes out for MW3) will come with a fee.
The simplest and best analogy I can think of is television. You can
watch NBC, CBS, and ABC all you want, just for the price of buying a
TV. However, if you want more — Comedy Central or HBO or NBA League
Pass — then you subscribe to a cable or satellite service to get those
extra programs. You don’t have to; it’s a question of whether or not
you want to see those other shows. If you’re happy with your usual
high-quality network television, keep on enjoying it. But if you want
more content from your TV, you can choose to subscribe to more.

Apparently, as Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling sent out a photo of the
Hardened Edition that he took at the plant where they are being
manufacturered. That photo was a surprise to me too, honestly. I don't
know what it contains, and I don't know if there will be a super-fancy
Prestige Edition; I am hoping that we will hear more at Call of Duty
XP.

I know most folks either hate or love Nuketown, but I love it. I like
the smaller maps -- Firing Range is a fave for the same reason. But
lately I've really come to love Kowloon. Of the latest pack, I like
Drive-In the best.
MW2, I kind of stink at all of them, but I always liked Rust (again,
really small) and Skid Row. Skid Row is probably my favorite of the
MW2 maps.

They are promising lots of info about MW3 at Call of Duty XP --
primarily, the first reveal of multiplayer details and the first
hands-on opportunities. There will also be developer panels but I

there to hear them, so I guess I'll find out then!

Xbox Sales continue to grow, Call of Juarez is released, Resistance 3 beta gets a release date, sort of.

Resistance 3 will have a multiplayer Beta coming soon ! Drew Miller, lead designer of Resistance 3 that resistance will have a multiplayer 3 Beta, coming in the first week of august. No other details are known about the beta, like what gamemodes will be playable, if there is a level/XP Cap or even who will have access to it, but i know that if it is available to everyone the first week of august, I will defiantly be downloading it the first day, as i can't wait to see if this game is as good as its predecessors

XBOX sales cotinue to soar. Microsoft released last quarters sales, showing a surprisingly high growth rate for the summer. 1.7 Million xbox'x were shipped last quarter ( about 600,000 Xbox's per month ). Also, xbox bussiness in general grew 29%, due to not only good xbox sales, but also due to Kinect sales, and the $10 a year increase in the Xbox Live Price.

Call Of Juarez : The latest game in the Juarez series, Call of Juarez : The Cartel. I have not played the game yet, but according to reviews, it doesn't sound very good, heres the review from joystiq.com :
Woe to the franchise that starts on the wrong footing. When a debut is shaky, it's rare that a follow-up ferrets out the faulty strands of its progenitor's DNA and highlights the worthwhile ones.
Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood is one of those rare exceptions that managed to pull it off. The Western FPS refined the shooting mechanics of its predecessor while layering on a mature, well-told story of two brothers at odds and some neat gameplay tricks. So with the series' third iteration, you'd hope for something even closer to perfection, something that masterfully realizes the full potential of the world, mechanics and characters.

And if it weren't a cheap, sloppy, misguided failure on practically every level, Call of Juarez: The Cartel just might have pulled it off.Trading the Old West for the modern era, The Cartel puts you in the shoes of either Ben McCall, a police officer and distant relation to the McCalls of previous Juarez games, Eddie Guerra, a charmless Latin Lothario stereotype, and Kim Evans, a Harvard-educated FBI agent who talks like a member of Kreayshawn's crew.

You attempt to take down the titular drug cartel as any one of the agents, and have online friends or the AI control the other two. The three agents are working together but also competing, with each being assigned secret objectives in each level (usually snatching a small object or talking to an NPC). To get the reward (experience and accompanying increased assortment of weapons), you have to complete them without your partners seeing. This is interesting in online co-op but beyond simple in single-player, where you just have to wait for your partners to get hung up on level geometry.
Also, while you can earn points for catching partners in co-op, your AI buddies will never try to complete their objectives, which just seems lazy. While poorly executed, it's the one good idea in the entirety of the 12-to-15-hour single-player mode, so I'm highlighting it before I move on to the bad parts of the campaign, which is to say "the rest of the parts."

I don't like how The Cartel moves away from the West -- to say the industry has a "glut" of modern urban shooters would be generous -- but I'd look past it, especially if Techland was taking an interesting approach to this crowded field. But not only does this iteration do away with the series' unique setting, it forgoes the gameplay trappings that have helped set it apart.

Levels are boring, nondescript collections of cover; weapons are utterly uninteresting; the AI of both your partners and your enemies is beyond stupid. The period you need to hide to regenerate health is far too long, which ruins the pace of combat.

The one attempt Techland makes to spice up the gunplay is "Concentration Mode," a callback to Juarez games of old. Only now, instead of satisfyingly fanning the right thumbstick like a pistol hammer as in Bound in Blood, you trigger a dull few seconds of slow-motion that don't last long enough to be truly helpful. McCall has abandoned the holy cloth of the other McCalls, but nods to his priest forbearers by spending the slow-mo quoting scripture peppered with profanity (which improbably manages to be both predictable and offensive).

Breaking up the dull shooting are some really unenjoyable driving sequences that are plagued by crashes and deaths you can neither predict nor avoid and a nigh-unusable dashboard viewing angle.

It's all generated by Techland's proprietary Chrome Engine 5, which shows plenty of rust here in its debut. Trees in the game's opening wooded level were rendered so slowly and with such egregious pop-in that the effect was a little like watching Bob Ross methodically create a picturesque forest landscape. (Ironically, The Joy of Painting had better shooting mechanics and driving controls.)

The script is riddled with clumsy dialogue and stereotyped characters that talk like ... well, like Polish guys guessing what Hispanic toughs in L.A. and Mexico might say. It doesn't quite edge into Racistland, but it has built a comfortable home in Unintentionally Offensiville and it's right on the border.

(Note: The captions of the dialogue bear only a passing resemblance to what is spoken. I almost didn't mention it to make room for other more egregious failings, but then I wouldn't have been able to relate one notable example in which "dark as hell" is replaced in on-screen text with "dark as cow's guts.")

I don't normally talk much about the user interface, but since The Cartel will forever stand as history's most unattractive UI, I thought I should record a taste for posterity. Behold: The opening menu.

QBasic called, it wants its font ba-- oh, sorry, it called again and said to keep it.

If you happen to receive The Cartel as a gift from a particularly vindictive loved one, you'll be pleased to know that you might squeeze some moderate fun from the multiplayer. The mode is built around a partner system that provides bonuses for sticking close to a certain teammate, which keeps deathmatches from being completely chaotic. Another neat idea: You get a bonus for spotting an enemy that a teammate later kills, which provides concrete incentive for doing recon.

Sadly, too many of the single-player problems carry over to make it worthwhile, and besides, if there's a loving deity in heaven above, too few people will buy the game to sustain it. But it's worth checking out for a few minutes before you put the wrapping paper back on the game and regift it to the cousin who accidentally backed over a beloved family pet in his RAV4 last Easter.

I think The Cartel stings more because I was a staunch supporter of Bound in Blood despite the franchise's tarnished reputation, even going so far as to name it one of my favorite games of 2009. The Cartel heartbreakingly not only fails to build upon Bound in Blood's momentum, it spits in the face of everything that made it worthwhile. It doesn't feel like a misstep for the series, it feels like an epitaph.

But who knows, maybe I'm too pessimistic. Maybe a fourth game will fix The Cartel's problems, rebound like Bound in Blood. But if that day comes, Techland and Ubisoft will have to find some other sap to convince people to care about their efforts. Much like the McCall family themselves, I'm done evangelizing.

Razor Onza Tournament Edition Conrtoller Review ( xbox 360 )

Overview : The Razor controller for the xbox 360 first caught my eye a few months back when my current xbox 360 controller ( and only controller at the time ) was starting to break. The battery wouldn't stay in the holder right, along with other problems.
One of the first things that jumped out at me was the adjustable resistance analog sticks, meaning you can change the tension, to make the analogs either looser, like PS3'S or more firm like the 360's. Another was the price. only $49.99 for the tournament edition, because the Microsofte-Made controllers are around the same price, but yet this controller has many more features. So there is the overview, now here's the review :

Review : So I've been using the Onza controller for about 3 days now, and ready to review it ! There are many, many great things to say about this controller, with just about 1 flaw.

THE GOOD : First off, one of the major keys to this controller being my favorite controller, is that the buttons are hyperresponse, meaning you don't have to push down the buttons as hard as the Microsofte controller. This allows for faster button reaction time, and less stress on your fingers. The buttons are back-lit which is a cool feature !
Another great add to this controller is the resistance-adjustable analog sticks, which means you can change the amount of force it takes to move the analog stick. This is good for COD, because you can make the Left Stick looser to run, and the right stick more resistant for more precision aiming ! All you have to do is move a little dial-like button below each analog stick to change the tension !
Two Multi-Function buttons, above the right and left bumpers, are also are a great feature. These buttons allow you to program them to be any button on your xbox controller ! For example, i use the right one as the Y button, to allow me to switch weapons easier while playing COD, and the left one as the back button so i can easily look at the scoreboard ! The buttons are very easy to change, all you do is hold the button the want to change it to, and then hold down either the left of right Re-Map button located on the back of the controller. It also has a little menu on the back to show you what button you changed each extra bumper to.
Finally, the last good thing i want to credit the controller with, is the D-Pad. Unlike the microsoft controller's D-Pad, this D-Pad has 4 separate buttons which allow for more accurate movement, which doesn't seem like much, but can really be helpful if the games often requires the D-Pad.

THE BAD : This controller is made for the current, microsoft-made xbox headsets, and doesn't work well with turtle beaches. You can use them, as i use my Turtle Beach X-11 with it, but the headset jack isn't perfect size for the end of the turtle beach plug in, so it often moves around, making a weird, farting noise to the people that your chatting with, and a little pooping (pop not poop ) noise for you. This isn't a major issue, and, from what i hear, there is a connector you can get to make it so it doesn't do this, but i didn't really look for it yet, so i can not confirm. I did however, contact Razor Support and asked them if they knew of a connector i could buy and i am currently awaiting a response.

Wrap Up : The Controller is well worth the $49.99 Price tag ( tournament edition ) and i would highly recommend it for anyone in the market for a new controller, or who is serious about gaming. Retaliation to be a future Black Ops DLC ?

Rumors floating around the Internet hint at " Retaliation " will be the next, and probably final Black Ops DLC. When some users downloaded the Escalation Map Pack, it was named Retaliation in the memory on their xbox. This could mean that the named accidentally slipped in the DLC when it wasn't supposed to ! Also, the name, Retaliation, rhymes, or goes along with the pattern of the other DLC'S, Annihilation and Escalation. Obviously there are no concrete facts that this is the name of the next DLC, but it makes sense because Treyarch has been pumping out DLC'S in about 2-3 month perioids, First DLC in February, 2nd in May, and the last in July, a September release seems possible, and October for the ps3 version, as that would leave a month or two for the release of MW3 ! We will update the story as more info is available !

UPDATE : Turns out the latest map pack will be called Resurrection, not Retaliation ! It realeaes August 23rd first on Xbox

             Activison VS An Unknown Person. Here's the story : Over two years ago, someone purchased the domain name, ModernWarfare3.com. Until recently, the site redirected visitors to battlefield3.com and now features a homepage that says " Warning : this site is under seige " and the site takes bashes at MW3 including a sentance on the site that says MW3 is a copy and paste sequel to the lackluster of a game that MW2 is. It also says that BFBC is a better series and COD Fanboys don't realize this.
           " Activision filed a domain-name dispute with National Arbitration Forum on Friday. Activision argues that the person behind ModernWarfare3.com "has no right or legitimate interest in the Domain Name," a violation of the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy, and wants the site under its own control.
           Activision has provided the panel with a two-page list of Modern Warfare's accomplishments as evidence of its right to the domain, or perhaps because it wants to see its "Best Shooter" award from CNN.com in writing. Activision claims the site contains copyrighted material, including the style of its Modern Warfare 3 header, and that the owner "supports the game Battlefield," quoting that it "urges visitors to 'grow up and forgettabout Modern Warfare 3 (because it looks just like Modern Warfare 2) and buy Battlefield 3 instead.'""

Google's latest attempt at a social network, Google + has taken off fast, VERY FAST. With other 10 million users already, Google plus is quickly pushing it's way to compete, and overtake Facebook and Twitter as the top Social Networks. Google Plus is currently in Beta mode, which you need to sign up for and be invited to, which they are not currently handing out invites to, but luckily, if you already have Google +, like me, you can invite others to the service, so if you would like an invite to google +, leave a comment with your email address or tweet me ( @mw2pwnclan ) and tell me you want a incite to google plus and i will give you one !

Black Ops latest DLC, Annihilation, drops to PS3 Gamers along with PC Junkies on July 28th, and will cost $ 15. The DLC includes 4 Mulitplayer Maps and the new, Jungle based Zombie Map : Shangri-La.

The Company behind Plants VS. Zombies, Popcap Games, has been acquired by EA for 750 Million dollars, including 100 Million in stock. Popcap says EA will help to expand there games to more gamers and help the company. It will be intresting to see if EA uses Popcap games on its new site, Origin .

The Netflix app has been added to the 3DS eshop and lets users stream 2d movies on their 3ds currently, but says that soon, 3d movies will be able to be streamed and seen without glasses. This news comes just after Netflix announced that it is raising its prices 60 % to all new customers and to everyone August 31st

Xbox Cloud Service to Launch Soon

I didn't plan on doing a blog this week but i wanted to write about the Xbox cloud service so here we go.

Microsoft Is going to be launching an all new service via xbox within a week or so ; this service will rival PS Plus's Could service, and let gamers save data such as Saved Games, Gamertag's, and more onto an online cloud where it can be accessed through any xbox 360.
This will allow for an easier way to transport not only saved games from one xbox to another, but also recovering Gamertag's will ( should ) be a lot less of a hassle than before. The current system makes you first type in your email, then a password, then it had to do like a pre-download then a full download and then you have to do it all over again once you get back to your xbox ! Also with saved games, the USB Drive must havae reserved space for your xbox which can be a hassle, and is not something i am going to miss once the " Cloud " Arrives !

                  Microsoft hasn't set an official date as to when this service will be launched, but it will come through as a system update, and is expected to release very soon, as in, within days / a week. I will post a review / explain how exactly the cloud works, along with what all you can save through the online " Portal " Once it launches, which is hopefully sooner than later.

Call Of Duty Elite Beta opens soon ; Welcome Back Pack. Ends ; Limbo coming to PSN, PC, COD XP, 2011

Elite : Call of Duty's latest invention. Call of Duty Elite is set to launch with MW3'S Release on November 8th, 2011 ; but in just over a week, on July 14th, the Beta for COD Elite will open. The Beta will let you test some of the features of Elite with Call of Duty Black Ops, but some features will be left for MW3, which is what Elite is being made for.

If you didn't know, Elite is a new, paid, or free ( depending on what tier of membership you choose ) from Activision that lets you connect to others, track your self, get exclusive content and much more, all for MW3 and future COD'S. You can read up more about Elite by clicking Here.

Playstations' Welcome back package over : Sony's Playstation welcome back package ended Sunday, so if you didn't redeem your games and PS Plus, your SOL. If you did choose your games but stopped the download, you can go to your download history in the PS Store and download them whenever you want.

Also, if you got anything free from the PS Store, that was free due o you having PS Plus, you will loose those items if you do not renew your PS Service. Anything you paid for, you get to keep.

COD XP 2011, is a 2 day Fan-Fest event, which is being held by Acivision. This event will let fans play the Spec Ops and Multiplayer game modes for MW3, months before the game comes out. Attendees will also get to play paintball in life sized multiplayer maps from MW2, and be able to run " The Pit " as played on MW2, and will let people test there speed through the Military Test. Additional activities include:

- Tournaments and prizes for the hardcore and casual fan alike
- Discussion panels and Q&A with Call of Duty developers
- Onsite Call of Duty armory and museum
- AAA live entertainment
- More attractions to be announced

The event will be September 2-3 and will cost $150, but Activision will donate 100 percent of ticket sales to The Call of Duty Endowment, its non-profit program which aids military veterans. You can see more info on the COD XP site by clicking HERE

Limbo : The Arcade game of the year, Limbo, an Xbox Arcade game is coming to PSN and PC. It has been confirmed that Limbo will be available for purchase on the PS Store and for PC Players, probally Via Steam.

Uncharted 3 Multiplayer Beta First Impressions / Review

Uncharted 3's Multiplayer Beta Dropped Tuesday to Infamous 2 Owners, and all PS Plus Members, which all playstation network users are eligible for due to the Sony Welcome Back Gift. I've played the Team Deathmatch, Free For All, and Hardcore game modes, and to sum up the review and if i had to use two words to sum up my thoughts on it, they would be : NOT IMPRESSED.
The Beta was constantly lagging for me, it took too many shots to kill people, and i'm not a fan of Third Person Shooters, so i guess you could say that Uncharted's Multiplayer isn't for me. I played uncharted 2 and loved it ( campaign ) but i just didn't feel the multiplayer. I am a Cod player, so Uncharted is a huge step down from what im used to. With that being said though, Uncharted does represent some cool features. The way to can grab and hid behind objects is really cool, and the cinematic part of uncharted 3's multi is a step up from other shooters.
I know this isnt much of a review, but i don't see much good coming out of the uncharted 3 Beta, so unless there are some huge changes to the final game, i won't be playing UC3 For The multiplayer, but for the heart pounding, great cinematic experience that is the Uncharted Series..

Google Makes a lot of different things. From Gmail, to the Android Os, to even new google chrome books. But what about video games ? On googles corporate site, they are looking for an employee that would serve a product manager at google games and "design strategies for game distribution and discovery, player identity, game mechanics, and more" as well as "initiate and prioritize projects within engineering, assist in determining the best technical implementation methods, track product development, and develop product launch plans."

Not much else is known at this time, but it would be interesting to see google getting into the video game market, and how they could integrate there google accounts, youtube channels, and Android OS into games.

The Uncharted 3 Multiplayer Beta open Tuesday June 28th for Owners of Infamous 2, or PS Plus Members, which you can get for free if you haven't redeemed your free 30 days as part of Sony's Welcome Back Program. The Beta open to everyone else on July 4th. Here are some Q&A you might have :

(free)Bing The Bing app is very useful, sleek and beautiful, and has many cool features such as voice search, and visual search, where you can take a pic of something and search for it on bing. I've recently taking a liking to Bing, even over google because of Bing Rewards, and it really does help to make more informed decisions. The App is free and lets you do all of the normal features as bing.com does, along with visual and voice search.

($1.99 ) Tweetbot If you love twitter like me, chances you are you use the twitter app on iOS. Tweetbot though, offers a cooler version of the standard Twitter App with cool touch gestures and many many other features you wilt have to experience on your own !

E3 Thoughts ( Wii U, PS Vita, Mass Effect 3 ), New Black Ops DLC

Well, i'm back. I know i said i won't be blogging again until August, but i couldn't take it. I'm going to still blog, probably not as often, but i will still blog through summer.

Wii U: Shown at E3, the Wii U is Nintendo's latest console. It features HD graphics ( which the ps3 and xbox 360 have had for years ) and a touchscreen controller ( which is new to consoles ) I, personally see this as just another wii console with a fancy new controller. I don't think the controller is really necessary , although it can be played as a portable device, which is pretty cool. The Wii U is not a console i will be buying, but will be interested to see how people act towards this new console.

PS VITA : The most hyped item at E3 for SONY, the PS Vita, was finally given a name at E3. Vita, Latin for Life, is a whole new entry into handheld gaming. The Vita is something Sony has been working on since 2008, and it looks good.Really good. Contrary to the Wii U, the Vita is something i can't wait to get my hands on and play. With titles such as Uncharted, little big planet, and even Call Of Duty coming to the new hand held, there will defiantly be enough games to keep you busy.

Mass Effect 3 : With ME3 Finally given a official release date ; you will be able to start saving the world on March 6th of 2012. Along with a release date, new gameplay of ME3, and man, does it look good. ME 1 and 2 are classics, but i think ME3 has already secured a place among xbox 360's top games. Mass Effect 3 is said to let you have a little more free roaming and exploring than ME2 had, which is something i am looking forward to ! Also, there is going to be some type of 4 player co-op mode, and from what i am hearing, it will be some kind of horde mode.

Black Ops DLC ; Annihilation : Here is What Treyarch says about the latest BO DLC that releases June 28th : We really wanted to push the visuals on all of the maps. Each map feels very unique," says Dan Bunting, Online Director for Call of Duty: Black Opsand its upcoming multiplayer map pack, Annihilation, in a preview video for the Xbox 360's $15 / £10 June 28 download.

Four of the maps are for the standard multiplayer mode. Hangar 18 is centered upon a Blackbird SR-71 stealth bomber parked within the mysterious Area 51 military base.

"It has a lot of Easter eggs that play up to the conspiracy theory aspect," teases Dan, while level designer Paul Mason Firth promises both close quarters combat and sniper points.

Silo is the second map, a sprawling, snowy Russian construction site with many interconnecting paths and, according to fellow designer Phillip Tasker, favors players who "take their time, are smart, use decoys, and pay attention to the mini-map."

Both Drive-In and Hazard hark back to prior Call of Duty successes. Drive-In is inspired by the tight and frantic Black Ops original Nuke Town, while Hazard takes World of War's Cliffside, transplanting sniper-friendly scenery onto a sunny golf course.

As for the Zombies map, there's more than a hint of Indiana Jones about it. Set in (and named after) Shangri-La, players can commandeer mine carts, slide down water channels, set off spike traps and find themselves suddenly enclosed as shutter walls slam down.

Annihilation is the third map pack for Black Ops, with the other two having come out on Xbox 360 in February and April, making their way to PC and PlayStation 3 a month or two later.

By this time in Call of Duty: World at War's first year, two of three map packs had been release, so it seems likely that Black Ops will benefit from at least one more download before Modern Warfare 3 drops on November 8.

I do however, have to take a break sometime. With school finishing up in a couple of days, i will be taking a break from blogging, and will not post another blog on here, ( except for maybe updates on when i will be starting again ) Until July Or August. Gears Of War 3, E3, New Official Sony PS3 Headset, Resistance Dual Pack.

Before I Start off with the gaming news, i would like to take a moment, in observance of Memorial Day to thank all the troops serving in the Military both over seas, and right here in the USA. The dedication you demonstrate to your country is the reason why we live in the land of the free, and the home of the brave. So thank you to not only the troops, but the families of all the troops who have served time, and to all troops currently serving time to keep this great nation as the best in the world-- you are the true heroes of our nation.

GEARS OF WAR 3 : Set to release September 20th, the first trailer for Gears Of War 3 was released a few days ago. The Beta has already been released, but after seeing that trailer, it makes me even more impatient to get my hands on the latest installment in the Gears Series. Gears Of War 3 Trailer :

NHL 12 : My Friends, ( hockey lovers ) got me into NHL 11 this year, playing online with them in EA Hockey Club, which is a lot more fun than i ever anticipated a Hockey game could be, So when i got the news on what NHL 12 has in store, i was pretty excited. NHL 12 will feature Goalie fights, broken glass, knocking off helmets, knocking the net off the posts, screening the goalie, hitting players into the benches, an improved be a pro mode, to name a few things. Goalie fights is something i wanted all through NHL 11, and now we will see it in NHL 12 ! Although we don't know the details about goalie fights, from the video seen on ESPN.com, it show that goalies can skate out to center ice, and challenge enemies to a fight, which is something i am looking forward to. Next, broken glass will be making a return ! As seen in previous hockey games, you will now be able to break the glass during a game ! Take a hard enough slap shot, or hit a player hard enough against it, and the glass will shatter ! I can't wait to bust a player's ass through the glass for the first time ! Another thing NHL 12 will boast is that everything is now live. This means that anything you hit will move, or get knocked off, including helmets ! You can knock off a players helmet if you hit them hard enough, so get your checking attribute points up and start knocking off some helmets ! If you've ever watched a hockey game, chances are, you have seen the net get knocked off the post, causing play to be stopped. This will now be able to happen, so don't skate to hard into the paint, or crease if you want to be technical, or else play will need to be stopped ! If you're not aware what screening the goalie is, it is where you stand in front of the enemy goalie, so he can't see the puck, allowing your team to score a cheap goal ! You will now allowed to do this in NHL 12 ! Ever hit someone hard enough that you think they should of been hit into the bench ? Well now they will in NHL 12. If you are near the benches and wreck someone, they will fly into the bench, either friendly or foe, depending on where you hit them ! Finally, Be a Pro Mode will be upgraded !!! Not much is known as to what exactly will be upgraded, but from the few screen shots i have seen it looks good ! Needless to say, i am looking forward to see if NHL 12 will live up to my expectations in September ( 13th ) NHL 12 Trailer :

PS3 : Sony is releasing another official PS3 Microphone, but this one is a wireless head set, featuring Dolby 7.1 audio, and a sexy black design even though is seems a little bulky
The headset will release in September for a cool $100
If i was more of a ps3 gamer, i would probably jump on this head set and pre order it, but i am a hard core 360 gamer, and only use my PS3 for mlb 11 the show, and killzone 3, and i already have a turtle beach for my 360. This headset looks like it should be a first choice headset for any ps3 core gamer.

Resistance Dual Pack : If you want to get Resistance 3, the upcoming ps3 exclusive, but didn't play the first two in the series, you are in luck. On July 5th, the Resistance dual pack, featuring Resistance 1 and 2, will be available to download for $39.99 Via the playstation Store. I am looking forward to resistance 3, but have already played the first two, so i will not be buying this.

E3 : All Eyes will be on Nitendo, Sony, and Microsoft from June 7th through the 9th, as E3 will be taking place. I will not go into too much detail about E3, but i will go over what each company will most likely show off during the show.
SONY : Sony will try to regain gamers trust in the company after the cyber attacks against the company threatened consumers personal Info in May. Sony will be showing off Uncharted 3, the sequel to the Game Of the Year, Uncharted 2 ! NGP, sony's latest mobile gaming platform will also be showed off, and i will be intrested to see if they show off any titles coming to the system !
MICROSOFT : All eyes will be on MW3, as the game leaked earlier in May, MW3 will show more gameplay during E3, and i can't wait to see what they will show off ! Also, more Kinect titles are expected to be shown off during E3.
NITENDO : The most anticipated company of E3 will be Nitendo, because they are set to show off there latest console, code named " Project Cafe ". This will be a wii successor, feature HD Graphics, and supposedly be more powerful than the PS3, which is hard to imagine, and have a touch screen controller which will be interesting to see how they Incorporate that into the gaming experience.

LA Noire Launches, New Playstation Phone, MW3 Pre Order Bonus Announce, Dragon Age 3 Announced Via Twitter.

First, we start off with LA Noire. The Highly anticipated 1940's detective game by Rockstar launched Tuesday, featuring what is said to be the future in gaming, with realistic facial movements, and hand and body gestures, to tell if a person in lying or telling the truth. I am defiantly going to find a way to play this game,
and like a lot of games, i would rent it, but like i said in a past blog, the game will take up 3 xbox 360 discs, so it will most likely take me longer than the 5-day rental period i have with family video. PS Phone: Son'y latest product, the Xperia play, AKA the playstation phone is available for pre order, and set to release on the Verizon network on May 26th, for $199 with a new contract. To me, it seems like a good deal, considering you get not only a new, android powered cell phone, but you also get a brand new gaming device. I'm currently on AT&amp;amp;T, but if i ever switch to Verizon, the Xperia Play would definitely be at the top of the list for phones.

MW3 Preorder : The game may have been just been announced ( leaked ) but Gamestop is already offering bonus for pre-ordering the soon to be biggest game of 2011/2012. From Gamestop, the first 500,000 people to preorder MW3 will receive a special double sided Modern Warfare 3 poster. The promotion runs until the 500,000 posters are gone. I would pre-order MW3, but i am waiting for the Hardened and prestige editions announced, because like i did for Black Ops, i plan on getting the hardened edition for MW3, hopefully for some extra maps !

Dragon Age 3 : Dragon Age 2 might have come out just a few months ago, but the third installment in the series has already been announced Via Twitter. A few days ago, BioWare's creative Lead Alistair McNallyTweeted that he is looking for an exceptional environment artist to join him to work on Dragon Age 3. The tweet can be seen HERE.

What I Want From MW3

* UPDATE : FIRST EVER MW3 GAMEPLAY TRAILER :

Black Ops may still have have a while as the newest COD game, but it's never too early to start talking about the next installment in the biggest video game series of all time- Call of Duty. ( Modern Warfare 3) Not a whole lot is known about the gameplay of MW3, so i'm going to tell you what i hope i will see in MW3:

NO COD POINTS :  Although COD points ( currency ) works in Black Ops, i do not want to see it in MW3. In fact, i want MW3 to resemble MW2 as much as possible. Cod points are good in black ops, but i would like to see that as a Treyarch thing, and not IW, and MW thing. I loved the whole unlocking system in MW2, from the guns, to attachment, to cameos, to even Titles and emblems. Simply buying titles isn't as appealing as earning the ones you want.
                BETTER GRAPHICS : Black Ops's graphics reminds me of a cartoon, or comic book, which isn't bad... If im watching a cartoon or reading a comic book. In MW3, i want graphics like MW2'S Hopefully MW3 will look more like its MW2 Than B.O.

No Commando ( pro ) : One of the most common complaints from MW2 was the knife-lunging, due to Commando. It didn't just give you an advantage while knifing, it let you fly across the map and knife someone. I will be very disappointed if MW3 had commando, or another knifing perk.


Elevators: Even though they won't purposely put elevators in the game, i would love to see them in MW3. I can remember all the time we spent mastering how to do an elevator, exploring the map outside of the normal playing field, and all the private matches we did with elevators. This provided gamers with many good memories of MW2, and some kind of elevator setting in private match would probably make me jizz. ( in my pants )
         MW2 Maps : I didn't play MW1, so when they brought back MW1 maps in the MW2'S DLC, it didn't really interest me that much, but with MW2 being my favorite game, and knowing the maps so good i could probably walk around them blind and know where i am, i hope that MW3 will have DLC with MW2 maps, or if the hardened edition will contain some kind of bonus maps !
          Overall : If you couldn't tell, i want MW3 to be a lot like Mw3. So many ( almost all ) of my gamer friends that i have met via online gaming, i have met through MW2. I have invested more time in MW2 than other game, and it will probably stay that way, besides MW3 if its great. I really hope it has that feel that makes you want to do private matches, play with friends, and overall, have a great time. We will have to see if IW, Raven Software and Sledgehammer Games can pull off another masterpiece, like MW2 was.
